It's time to kick off the 2nd Annual
National Virtual Bowling League Summer Edition! Let's head to the bowling centers.
Compete against people from your own state and from other states!
Sounds exciting, but...WHAT IS A VIRTUAL BOWLING LEAGUE?!
Here's how it works:
-
Gather some friends (or go on your own) and find a
bowling center near you (Even though this is a "virtual"
league, the bowling itself is real. No bowling on the Wii
J)
-
Each week, bowl at least the number of games required for
your division - check your local bowling alley for pricing
-
Report those scores each week to Coach Kevin using the
online scores reporting form.
-
Check the sports website's results page to see the weekly results.
-
Repeat weekly
League dates - The league begins the week of
July 6th, 2009
and runs for 4 weeks through August 1st, 2009. You can bowl
anytime during the week. You must send your scores in by Saturday at mid-night Mountain Standard Time.
Scores will be posted by Wednesday of the following week.
Who can participate?
-
All ages are welcome to participate from kids to adults.
Different divisions are set up to accommodate the age ranges.
-
The league is a virtual league;
therefore anyone in any location near a bowling center can
participate.
-
All skill levels, beginner to advanced
Fees - Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of $5.
NOTE: The registration fee only covers the cost to join the
league. You are still responsible for paying for your
bowling, shoe rental, etc at the bowling alley.
Payments must be received with your
registration no later than July 6, 2009.
Payment can be made by check, money order
or via PayPal (including MasterCard and Visa). Please check out the payment page
to make payments.
Make-up games - If you miss bowling one week, you will
be allowed to make up the games the following week.
Scores will not be allowed 2 weeks late.
Extra games or bowling in another league - Participants
may want to bowl more than their required division games each
week. Or students may already be bowling in a league. Either scenario is fine.
Please declare before you begin bowling which
game(s) will be designated as the league game(s) for the week.
You can't just pick your best games and assign them as
your NVBL games.
Divisions - The league is divided into the following
divisions:
-
Age 5 & Under - bowl 1 game
per week, use bumpers, can use bowling aid to roll ball
-
Age 6-8 - bowl 1 game
per week, use bumpers
-
Age 9-11B - bowl 2
games per week, use bumpers
-
Age 9-11 - bowl 2 games
per week, no bumpers
** NOTE: Age 9-11 must choose which division they would like to play in,
with bumpers (Age 9-11B) or without (Age 9-11). Changing divisions will not be allowed.
-
Age 12-14 - bowl 2 games
per week, no bumpers
-
Age 15-17 - bowl 2
games per week, no bumpers
-
Adult (Age 18+) - bowl 2
games per week, no bumpers
Note: Participants will only compete
against other players within their age division. You can bowl
in a higher division if you choose; however, you can not bowl in
a division younger than your age.

We will post the scores with the
player's first initial, last name and location to help with privacy
concerns.
-
We expect league members to be honest
in their score reporting.
Any form of cheating is unacceptable.

You are required to retain a copy of
your results until the end of the league. An electronic

bowling center can not produce an electronic print out of your
games, please have a bowling staff member sign off on your
