Buy your own bowling shoes to save the cost of shoe rental:

  • EBay -- type bowling shoes into the search engine.  Our family bought several pair very inexpensively this way.  We chose to purchase a slightly larger size so that they could use the shoes longer.
  • Local Thrift Stores and Yard Sales  -- This is another avenue our family pursued to by inexpensive shoes.  All of the shoes we purchased were between $2 and $12.
  • Craig's List  --  type bowling shoes into the search engine.
  • Cheapbowlingballs.com has new shoes for $12 and up.
  • You can find new shoes at Bowling.com.  They have a kid's equipment section and a Closeouts/Specials section.
  • Retail Me Not is a place to go to find discount coupons on all kinds of things.  You can type bowling.com or other bowling sites into the search engine to discover what coupons are currently available.

Get less expensive rates at your local bowling alley:

  • Brunswick  -- Sign up to receive coupons via email from Brunswick.  Includes free hour of bowling.

  • AMF -- Sign up to receive special promotions via email from AMF.

  • GoBowling.com  --  This site shows you the latest promotions from various companies - i.e. Banquet foods free game, Pepsi promotion, etc.

  • Off-peak Hours -- Try calling your local bowling alley to see when their off-peak hours are.  Often you can get a discount if you bowl during those times.  Since we school at home and can sleep in the next day if need be, we have often taken advantage of $1 deals after 9:00 p.m.

  • Group Discounts -- Many bowling alleys will offer a discounted rate to groups.  Gather as many friends together as you can and see what your local lanes will offer you.
